What is the Lumenis Ultrapulse fractional carbon dioxide laser?

*The Lumenis Ultrapulse fractional carbon dioxide laser (the Active Fx or Deep Fx) is the most modern and powerful fractional CO2 machine available. It has distinct benefits over other fractional laser devices.

*Lumenis Active Fx laser uses tiny columns of laser energy to resurface skin.  Unlike traditional carbon dioxide lasers, it does not treat the whole facial (or other) region, just small sections of skin within the total area. The laser is delivered in grid-formatted beams so that untreated skin is left untouched in between lasered areas. This helps to speed recovery.

* It can be used to treat wrinkles, surgical and other types of scarring, acne scarring and pigmentation. Active Fx also helps to stimulate collagen and tighten skin. Apart from facial treatments it can be used to treat hands, necks and decolletage.

*Treatments with this laser can be done with the Active Fx hand piece, Deep Fx hand piece, or both hand pieces (Total Fx) depending on the type of problem that needs to be addressed.

*Treatments are tailored to each individual patients needs.  Depending on the problem and the desired result, Dr Khan can assess the best way of applying the laser.
